Re: GTS and Ali5
As a side note, I used Geforce DDR, GF2 MX and GTS always to find big BSODs on my Asus P5A. I then switched to a 3dfx Voodoo5 PCI and never looked back. It's the best card with that system both in stability and speed <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/image...

Re: agp on p5a-b
Funny how with a P5-A/K6-III+ 550 I was experiencing a lot of freezes with IE5 and 5.5. Since I moved to IE6, no more glitches whatsoever. But I have to say that those boards were never to keen on Nvidia and AGP. I switched to a Voodoo 5 5500 PCI and system is now stable as rock.

Re: Compatibility matrix: Asus P5A/A-B & AMD K6-2/3/3+
The k6-II and III are compatible with all P5A revision. The K6-II+ and III+ are only compatible with all version of P5A anterior to ver 1.05. Meaning 1.03, 1.04 will work with + but not the ones after. For best compatibility with the + CPU, use the latest beta 1.011.005 found on the deutch Asus webs...

Re: New Asus P5A beta Bios 1011 Ver.05
OK, I flashed and installed the new BIOS. I didn't see any new options compared to the beta .04 It works exactly identical as the prior bios. No better, no worse. I played Q3 for a while and it is as stable as before but no improvement nor decrease in performance. This bios is dated May 2nd 2002 so ...

Re: K6-III+
Jonwest, for reference with my K6-III+ 550 and my V5 PCI, I get, in 1024x768x16bit using Q3 with all option to the max, 45.5 FPS in demo1. As for UT always using Glide, I get around 57 FPS. It depends very much of the drivers you use and the OS. For Win98, always use the 3dfx 1.04.01 beta drivers wh...

I finally dug out the Max Temp. spec. for all the K6 like ACR, ACZ, AHX...etc. The first letter is for the socket format, the second letter tells you the voltage and the third describes the max. temperature allowed.

X=65c R=70c Z=85c mean...
