Just to clarify - in case anyone else is momentarily confused - this is not about Mac on a K6. It's kind-of old news too. OSX on non-apple hardware has been happening for a while :> To clarify a bit... No, this isn't about running OSX on a K6, which is why it was posted here on the "hardware >...

Re: RE: How to roll your own Mac (!!!)

Don't know anything about Mac's Os. Don't particularly like Windopes; but at least I more or less know the ropes with it. Story of my life really, get stuck in a bad situation, and live with it, cause I know more or less how to cope. I've only played with Mac OSX a bit in the stores myself. The las...

How to roll your own Mac (!!!)

Yeah, you read that subject line correctly. If you're like me and are interested in taking that Mac plunge but don't want to bother plunking down the moola (or don't have the moola) for a mini, here's a nice project that shouldn't cost you (according to writer) more than $240. Then, if you hate it- ...

Yeah, I'm aware of that. It's just that I've been under the impression that we were staying away from the larger networks (something Nohr (I think, at least) said to me some while back).

Anyway, I guess it's up to you guys to make that decision. I was only making a suggestion.

Laters,

I agree, our home connections are probably far less reliable than what we're using now. I sent an email to you earlier, Nohr. There's a hosting solution that appears to be very decent and only costs $6/mo for up to 125 users at once. At that price, even I am willing to pitch in. They also give some ...

IRC Chat a no go...

It has been down quite a few hours now, at least since mid-afternoon EDT. I'd also seen it happen for minutes at a time since this past Saturday. I know that I'm a lowly user, but I think it is safe to say that Dixiesys isn't very reliable anymore. Because of this, I think that it may be time to eit...

RE: GM vs Microsoft

LOL!

I realize that this post is REALLY old at this point, but it has actually been a long long times since I've checked out the forums at all- my bad! Anyway, great post- thanks Jim. I enjoyed that (except for the reference to Macs being better).

My apologies. Though it is related to extraterestial intelligence, which is what seti is all about. There is no doubt whatsoever that there is some other far more advanced life out there. Somebody crashed a spaceship here about 12000 years ago, survived it, enslaved local humans, taught them a numb...

Re: New SETI@home Team Created

[quote="Nohr"] This is important for our current K6Plus SETI team members. As you may or may not know, SETI@home Classic will be coming to an end on December 15th in favor of the new BOINC client. Therefore some changes to our team have to be made. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Kew...

Hey!

I have an SASE all ready to go into the mail today. Don't be alarmed because the envelope that it's sent in has been opened (and scotch taped back shut). It's because I didn't read instructions carefully enough. I've got it right now tho :P

Thanks!

Yahuli

<!--EZCODE ...
