As an extension to this it seems that we were able to create a totally new processor by moving the u...

Re: EPoX MVP3G5 memmory
On ali aladdin v there are reports of up to 1.5gb of ram working. 3gb may be possible but I haven’t seen anyone do it yet. On mvp3 (what OP has) I have only seen up to 768mb of memory installed. Mvp3 has a less forgiving memory controller. Personally, I am running 640mb on a mvp3 right now. (I would...

The other day I believe I got over 6,000 with a k6 3+ 550 at 577 5.5x105 with 1gb ram ali aladdin v and radeon 9800 pro. I have linux on it atm, though and the run was done on windows ME. Re: Gigabyte GA-586DX Dual Socket-7 Board
guys I have the Tyan AT version of this board s1564 and can confirm 512mb is possible with 4x128mb sticks. since basically the boards are very similar with chipset and dual processor I assume 4x128 will work also for you.

Re: WOW...I'm blown away, this site is STILL up!
Not very active but still here. I figure it's worth keeping around for the info in all of the old threads even if there's little new activity. Might help someone out. I think the motherboard for my K6-III+ needs to be recapped, it's been dead for a while. I'll have to take another look at it some d...

Re: Anyone try SSD on Socket 7 system yet?
Old post, but shame on people for not replying to you lol. Yes!! I’m going to be trying it in the next week or two. In fact I picked up a pci to pcie16x adapter, and plugged a pcie 16x to m.2 nvme and a 128gb nvme into it. I don’t expect it to be directly bootable. So I will use a boot loader on a c...

Re: Hello everyone!!! and Greeting to all my SS7 friends!!
Hello!! Welcome! I’m also new :-) sorry no one replied. Seems kinda quiet around here. Might liven up with the surge of retro builds these days again in time though. You could also try more modern faster cards and try a glide wrapper. I’m going to be doing pci on my build. A 5500, 6200, and gt610 ar...

Verifying voltage.
What’s the easiest way to verify cpu voltage? Can I set the voltage wothout a cpu installed, power it up and check it or should I install a higher voltage cpu and test it then install the lower voltage one? Also how to I check voltage with a volt meter on socket 7? Do I have to test at the back of t...

Crazy k6 3+ build
First off, thanks for the add. Thought I would share my build here. Look forward to your guys thoughts :-) So this build needs a little bit of back story. Back in 2004-2005 I came across a motherboard that I thought was pretty cool. At the time I was collecting socket 7 chips for fun and decided to ...
