Linux... I don't know who got the "brilliant" idea of requiring i686 or higher as default, so many current distros doesn't work. Ubuntu, which is the most popular right now, simply doesn't work as support was explicitely dropped in 11.x. And future doesn't look bright... I hate to say it ...

You really can still use Socket7 systems today for surfing the internet and Microsoft Office applications without any problems. Those Scythe thermal devices certainly look the part, personally I've always wanted one of those Cooler Master Musketeers but they're getting a little thin on the ground here abouts and TBH they're more form than function

I used to have one also, but the fact that they were just a stock K6-2 500 factory OC'ed was very apparent, as it ran hot, was unstable and wouldn't OC one extra MHz, so i had no fondness for it. The factory 550's were better than an enthusiast OC as the factory deemed it more stable than the 533/5...
