Nohr, Considering how much time we spend on target, and that every message has some K6 stuff in it, your post is remarkably offensive and will have the net effect of making me just leave this forum. I get nothing out of it, and having whining forum admins that complain when some posts have some mate...

Tez and Jim,

Makes you wonder why anyone would support 6x, since 2x was the same. Very odd. Probably was done before AMD remapped 2x to 6x, nothing else makes any sense at all to me.

Sylvan, I will try not to be overly harsh about your message. It comes off as totally inappropriate considering how much we stay on topic and how we both try to answer your questions when you ask them. Good grief, no one is holding a gun to your head, and if Jim wants to start a side conversation ab...

Jim, Every motherboard I have tried works fine at 600 MHz, if they work at 550 MHz. But, it is certainly possible that some do not. However, there would be more than enough that do, as most people on this site could tell you. The way it works is the CPU makers tells the motherboard makers the proces...

Jim, The BV155 was never a production aircraft, the final version of the ME 109 was the K version. With respects to taking off and landing, you are incorrect with respect to magnitude. Prop fighters do not need protection the way jets do. Jet propulsion required speed to push air through the turbine...

Jim, With regards to the 600s, AMD could easily have released those chips if they wanted to, since they were indirectly supported by all the motherboards since they remapped 2x to 6x. Now, 5.5x was the big problem as I mentioned, but that was AMD's fault since they told motherboard makers they were ...

Jim, I do not work for motherboard makers, and I think modern motherboards, and processors suck bad. Just for different reasons than you do. It used to be a motherboard never died, I seem to kill one for the Athlon every couple of years and it makes me mad. Computers from the 80s never died. I beat ...

ChrisW, I am arrogant for pointing out you do not know what you are talking about and explaining why? Or are you an idiot for using terms you do not know, and then directing some vague insult based on no information at me? Stick to what you know, and stop trying to sound like you know more than you ...

Jim, I have no problem interleaving the memory, as I mentioned, but thanks for the information. I use a memory interleave enabler. Still, it sort of rubs me the wrong way this is not supported in BIOS. It is pretty basic stuff that should have been, as most users will not know enough to research thi...

Sylvan, I have a Tyan motherboard that does not support memory interleaving in the BIOS. It is a great motherboard besides that, and I got it new. But, it leaves me a little cold that it did not support memory interleaving, or for that matter PCI latency. Still, it has been very, very stable. EPoX i...

Jim, The 450 ACZ is not better, in general, than the 400 ATZ. I can not admit it, because it would be incorrect. If you ever overclocked processors, you would realize that you get way more than 50 MHz from .4 volts. I am certain there are instances where 450 ACZs are better, but overall, they would ...

Jim, I feel like you are not listening or simply are being stubborn. Motherboard makers support released processors!!! AMD did not release the K6-III+ family for the desktop market, everyone knows this. I could not even buy one at the time and no one knew if you could pop them into a desktop motherb...

Sylvan, If you have later revisions of the boards, they may work OK. I would say that if your processors do not run at 550 MHz, it says nothing about the processor and something about the motherboard. All my ATZs ran at 550 MHz easily, although one gives me trouble now after several months at 550. B...

Sylvan, One problem you may be aware of, or may not be, is that not all motherboards work properly at 550 MHz. I remember back around 2000 buying a K6-2 550 and being really angry with AMD for making a defective processor. I ordered another, and voila, another defective processor. Both failed on two...

Jim, The ATZ is rated at 400 MHz at 1.6volts, not 400 MHz at 2.0 volts. You don't decide a processor can't run at 450 MHz at 2.0 volts, and then downbin it to 400 MHz and lower the voltage. If it can't make 450 at 2 volts, there is no way in Hell it will make 400 at 1.6. 400 at 1.6 is harder. All my...
