And will an old Cyrix MII do well with a Linux firewall/router? :D In case you still follow this thread: Yes, the Cyrix MII will make a good Linux firewall/router. Even a fast i486DX will do that for a small private LAN. The main disadvantage of the Cyrix MII was its weak FPU (which does not matter...

Hello tazwegion, thx for your reply and greetings to the other side of the globe. :) No, the K6-2+ is not overclocked, actually it's even underclocked, since the board is only running at max. 75 MHz FSB stable. The PCI bus and chipset is overclocked at that FSB, but I'm running the system for years ...
