file recovery after fdisk
I accedently removed and repartitioned a hard drive while working on a friends computer and would like to know if anyone knows how to recover the lost files. I feel realy bad and would like to do all I can to fix it

I'm putting an old machine together from parts I have laying around but the motherboard is being picky about eide devices ie. hdd. and cd-roms. I finally got it to recognize the hdd but no cd. I set it for master slave and c.s. no dice. It won't detect any hdd over 2gb. It's a socket 7 with a 200mhz...

I installed the 7.58 drivers and got about 200 more points on 3d2k (neat). the lock ups stoped after I installed explorer 5.5. machine is running perfect. thanks alot. But I'm not sure what the ALi agp center is could you explain? <p></p><i></i>

Thanks for all the help. I installed the latest ALi agp drivers and nvidia detonator 2311 drivers .Then ran 3dmark 2000 with out any problems. I'm getting around 1205 score. Good enough I guess. set to 300mhz
Have you tried setting your jumpers to 300mhz (3x100mhz).The machine will boot. Then use a program like k6 speed to increase cpu speed once your are in windows.You can find k6 speed on this site I think, under downloads This should work. <p></p><i></i>

HI. I just put a machine together using a k6 2 550 in an asus p5a-b mb. It appears to work well with a 4mb pci video card but when I install a tnt2 m64 the darn thing freezes up solid. I want to install a usb port but the block on my motherboard has 10 pins and the cable for the usb ports only has 9. I wonder if I can just put another hole in the cable end or do I need another type of usb port? Anybody run into anything like this before? <p></p><i></i>

I have to agree with earlier post try using george's latency patch. I was having a similar problem and it cleared it up. I found it using google. Search george's latency patch. <p></p><i></i>

I got the latency patch to run. I forgot to move files to a folder before trying to run them. thats what I get for trying to fix my computer at 4am. Anyway patch works great!! The sound is perfect. Hi there. I just installed a new cd-rw+dvd-rom combo drive in my k6 2+@550. I can't get the sound to work properly when playing a dvd but the drive plays music cds great.
