Thanks for the advice on the NV drivers, now THAT'S some info I can use! ;D

And concerning the 16MB of RAM on the AGP (2D) card, 16MB is more then enough for fast Windows browsing using ok screen resolutions ;)

98lite isn't a free program last time I checked. I'm quite comfortable with using XPLite though ;)

However, imo you can't tweak XP enough for it to actually be faster then 9x and besides, using only XP gets boring fast :P

Intel states that they made some changes in how the CPU interfaces with the L2 cache. I suppose it is these changes (whatever they are, the document is not very technical) prevents us from using the L2 cache. Yes, except on Intel's own TX chipset. So I'd assume (could be wrong though) that either T...

I ran SuperPuppy 3 for years without problems on a DFI K6BV3+ /66 board (MVP3). Try running Everest & Sandra on your machine and see what results you get. I was able to get my DFI up to 5.5 x 103 MHz with no problem running Hynix Ram. Another thing is you get much better results with the 5.5 mu...

I never tried running any games on my TNT2-M64, I used it only for 2D while the V2 is used for gaming. My Super 7 rig is purely meant for Glide.
I'm using ME btw, not XP.

Damn...so far it appears theres no solution for the Tillamook issue. We did find some info about Tillamook in it's datasheet. Apparently some of the pins were disabled compared to it's older desktop brother. Perhaps this has something to do with it? I find it hard to believe Intel put somekind of mi...

Thanks for the replies ;)

Sorry for being a bit late, I had temporarily lost my login already :P

I've been looking for SiS-530 boards myself but these seem to be harder to find then one would expect for a board that was used quite often in Packard Bells.

Actually, theres another good use for a Super 7 board: That of a hardware 386/486 emulator. Theres a thread on vogons.zetafleet.com made by Mau1wurf1977 where he did some extensive testing a Super 7 board with disabled caches to see how speedy any given Socket 7 CPU would be. Super 7 is one of the b...

Yah... but Tnt2 was almost equivalent to the Voodoo2 in 3D anyway. Yes, but it's a TNT2 Model 64, say, the budget version of TNT. And I wanted a AGP graphics card with the most amount of memory but the least amount of heat to prevent any potential troubles with the AGP slot not being able to handle...

Sis530 and > 64MB cacheable area

Do they exist? So far all SiS530 boards I've come across were made for budget systems and included only 512kb cache on the motherboard. Do any SiS530 based boards exist that cache more then 64MB RAM? I'd be interested in having one so I could match it with (don't laugh please :P) a Cyrix MII 2.2v CP...

On Vogons someone also managed to get one running, but was unable to enable the motherboard cache, and no point in running 400Mhz without any L2 cache, right? From reading some of the threads on a couple other forums, I got a hunch that setting the voltage higher "might" cure the "No ...

I think this is an interesting topic. Once I have done some tests with a Tillamook, I'll report back here or will report on Vogons ;)

Sorry for the thread rez with little extra info to spare, I've (hopefully) got 2 Tillamooks on the way here now and plenty boards to test them in.
