i have a siig combo card installed with usb 2.0, firewire, pata and sata I interface on it. i installed a wd 320gb hdd with no problems. for booting from that drive you have to choose the scsi boot device option.

hello, i have the same board and, well, the best bios for it only supports 120gb drives. if you connect the hdd to the mainboard, the bios will stuck trying to detect it correctly. sorry, man, you can make 160 1gb partitions, but as the computer wouldnt recognize the drive itself, it will simply not...

as i remember,

i just flashed the f8 bios the normal and simple way with a celeron. the old bios was the f2 one ... i think.

concerning chip damage - 0,3V is quite a lot. not that it should kill your 475azc, but as you want to use your compaq for a longer time, i wouldnt do that. there is no way to tell it for sure. another thing is - i heard it here, in the k6plus forum, that these acz chips seem to have same overclockab...

in switzerland the fat taxes are 7,6 %. i expect about 30 additional euros to pay.
