Glad you found the answer! Sorry I was a little pesky on the posts above, but when I saw that auction above, there was nothing ensuring that low density sticks were being sold. The problem is that major brands no longer do them, although kingston value ram still lists a part ending with a Q over the...

I had an asus a7v133 1.05 (no dot), that was running flawlessly a tbred 2400+ stock at 2.0GHz, 133fsb (manual jumper config with "15X" mult, there was no official support on latest beta bios over palomino core). It had 2x512MB pc133 2-3-3-6, would superpi 1M around 1m:19s IIRC. Tbreds 2600...

Let me double check the crucial part number I have when I get home from work. I can give a list of boards I've used them on if it would help. The RAM in the auction are actually low-density modules. CT32M64S8D7E are 32M x64 . Here's a pretty good reading on density I've found: http://www.techsuppor...

Prime95 in blend mode 12h hours for my vintage PCs, 24h if I have the patience, 48h if it's my work computer. http://sp2004.fre3.com/ sp2004 is a better front end to prime95, with direct reads from MBM5. (the orthos variant is for dual core). edit: the link to the normal version seems down, but you ...

Crucial has worked well for me. Here's what I use: http://cgi.ebay.com/Crucial-512MB-2x256mb-PC133-Memory-CT32M64S8D7E_W0QQitemZ200086643530QQcategoryZ14918QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Can you get that exact model to work on your board? If so which? It's made of 32MB chips according to par...

Just to add, more than a year ago I settled on 44.03's (these were the fastest nv drivers for older cards, but cheated a lot on benchmarks as 3dM2k1, hence their bad reputation, latest creative had version 44.04 of these) or 45.23's (fixed previous issues, slower performance, at their time were rega...

Congrats! Lucky you! Well could have been a dozen things why it didnt work for me... CPU, Me, Mainboard, ... So enjoy your TurboSpeed HOT-591P - now it really is HOT!! Thanks! Well, it did 14h of prime95 blend without errors, so I'll give it a rest for now. In previous testing with my older k6-iiip...

Ooook, I just put the brand new shiny k6-2+ 550acz on my hot-591p rev 2.0. Latest official bios detects it correctly as a k6-2+, I started it from post to XP sp2 at 2.1v 5x95mhz fine (mems are 256mb+64mb, 4 way BI, 2-2-2-5 (turbo) and everything at fastest settings, 1:1, l3 onboard cache enabled), t...

This is a little late, but I have a hot591p to and I'm waiting for a k62+ 550acz from ebay to arrive (from that German auction with a few of them). For now I'm running a k6-IIIp 380 afk @4.5x95 2.3v (428mhz).
I'll post results as soon as I can, so let's see if I'm lucky...

I have the exact same problem, either in w2k and xp, I have that crash in d3d both with a fx5200 and a vanta pci (so no agp vs pci problem here). 56.72's are a no go for me, I haven't tried other 56.xx, but later 6x,7x and 8x. The latest that work for me are 53.01's. I have no problem with the older...

Oh well, I bit the bullet and went to 450mhz, at 2.5v I had some stability problems during heavy load and lots of programs running. So I had to up it to 2.6v and it seems perfectly stable now. The cooler is perfectly cool to touch, so I don't think there's a heat problem in here. Would boot xp at 47...

Heh, thanks for the welcome. When I have the time I'll try to settle with 4.5x100 2.5v and see how stable it can be. My current setting fortunately has passed some 12h prime95 in blend mode. I'm a little out of the k6 world, but 18% doesn't sound bad for a regular k6iiip if I can settle with it, but...
