hi Wiggy, From your avatar shouldn't it be Zippy? Anyway I'm from Leicestershire and have a three socket 7 boards plugged up and a few others I can swap in and out of machines as and when necessary. I do have one of the AT soyo boards you are using but I never had much luck with mine running Win98SE...

Peter, Which K6 did you have to get up to 666mhz? I haven't yet managed with any of my K6-2+ 550s or K6-III+s. The best I have got to is posting 666 with one or two of the K6-2+ 's. Have you tried delidding a cpu? I will try it on one of my 550's to see if it helps. I have managed to delid both a K6...

Yes Peter the 530m233.zip file is the one I downloaded and used. Yes I can now read voltages and fan speeds. The only thing noticeable on the voltages is that the read out for the CPU seems to read 0.7V higher than indicated in the bios set up menu. As you can see from the earlier post I have got a ...

Finally got hardware monitoring running using the Soyo Sy-5SSM hardware monitor downloaded from the soyo site. Works OK on my GA-5SSM board, apart from there is no temperature monitoring as there is no temp sensor on the Gigabyte board. The only other quirk is that the outputs for the system fan and...

I could not get the E3 bios to work on the TI5VGA board. This is unfortunate as this is supposed to be the bios that recognises K6plus cpus. Knowing that the Freeway board TI5VGF+ ultra is very similar to the TI5VGA, and that the bios for the Freeway TI5VGF board is compatible to the TMC TI5VGF boar...

At 100fsb the SIS530 chipset with a PCI video card, rather than onboard vga graphics, falls short of the performance you can get from both the ALI and VIA chipsets. When boosted up to 133fsb it can compete with the ALaddin V and MVP3 chipsets running at 100fsb. I have a Radeon 9250PCI card in my GA-...

Kalabok, This board is very similar to the TMC TI5VGF and the TMC TI5VGA boards. The VGF has virtually the same layout with the only difference being the ATA33 rather than ATA66. Both the TMC boards have 2mb of cache. However, like the DFI XV3+ board it is not possible to get these boards stable wit...

Jim, Anomic doesn't have a K6-III+ chip. He has a K6-III chip built on 0.25 micron architecture that happens to work at 2.0V. I think they were either meant for laptops or embedded solutions and were superceded by the K6+ series probably for cost reasons. I would have thought that the v1.05 board wo...

Anomic,
As Kalabok states is your K6-III cpu a K6-IIIP or is it a K6-III+ as it does make a difference. If it is not a K6-III+ then the cpu should work in your v1.05 board with no slowing down problems. Take a look on the casing to see. If no + is evident after the K6-III you should be fine.
