are you saying that you are running the cpu with no heatsink at all or just using the one from the old k6-2? Because you absolutely do need a heatsink on there (or a better one if you are using one)

it sounds 100% like a heat problem to me.

it seems that the built in support is a little sketchy in 98 but you can install aditional software to make it work right. smasung seem to have somthing called ippclient that does it. aparently you have to add the printer to a local port (like lpt1) and then in the drivers / software you can tell it...

try typing the name of the program followed by /? so amif634.com /? like most command line programs you need to tell it what to do and the default option wont do some default action (in this case ask you to press any key to exit) the /? command will list all the other commands that the flashing util...

when you boot from a cd that has been made with an image of a bootable floppy and burned with nero it looks to the system as the A drive contains whatever was in the image and im pretty sure the other files on the disc show up as d: (or whatever letter comes after your last hard disc) now im not sur...

i would guess that an 8500 or 8500le would be a perfect match. also an aureal sound card wouldnt be any good if you plan to use windows XP as (from memory) there arnt any drivers that do 3d audio for anything higher than windows ME. my fav games for my k63+ @ 575 and geforce 2 MX in no particular or...

with batteries when you hook them up in series they add their voltages and when you hook them up in parallel they add the amount of current (amps) that they can deliver. the thing about AAs is that they dont hold much power and so they are going to go flat pretty quickly when hooked up to a 80mm fan...

once i finish my uni work this afternoon ill hook up my 8500le in my ga5aa although i only have a cyrix m2 333 to use with.

also i can try it with both a 250watt atx generic psu and a 400watt also generic psu and see if that makes a difference.

ill let you know how it goes.

my ga5aa (baby AT sized version of the same board) would do exactly that unless i forced AGP 1x

with 1x it would work a charm for hours on end in both 2d and 3d.
with 2x it would work fine with 2d but lock up with 3d


worth a shot if its still giving you problems
