> what parts could influence the fsb-speed? Well.. nothing really. It's just I've seen boards drop their FSB speed when they see faulty memory, or CPUs that aren't working properly, esp. cyrix. Imho it could be *possible* for a board to drop it's FSB if the powersupply isn't providing good power to ...

Some boards behave funny when on-board battery dies. Are you using the same PS/cpu/memory to test all boards ? Give some different components a go.

Sorry if it's the bleeding obvious.

Thanks. XP's installed on a IDE drive now, but if i ever reinstall i'll have a go at putting it on sata with a floppy driver disk. The Sata2 speeds of this board are ok imho. Much better than IDE (and the board is now stable since i've reverted to a single DDR in slot 2), but i'll probably ditch it ...

Yes, the rebooting problem is definitely hardware, as it occurs in both linux and windows. It just spontaneously started happening, so is probably a mobo failure. I was just curious if anyone could fill me in on what part has failed. Not being able to boot windows XP from a Sata disk has always been...

Busted 4CoreDual-Sata2 (socket 775)

Hi Guys. Can anyone fill me in on whats happened to my board. It's the AGP/Core2 Asrock 4coredual-sata2. Anyway, It wasn't a bad board , but it started doing instantaneous reboots (both linux and windows) about every hour or two. So I swapped out the DDR2 for DDR (yes it takes both - Via PT880 chips...

Problem is am afraid to flash when the stupid thing is as unstable as it is. Could windup with a dead board. Hmmm.. An unstable board is very annoying though. Have you tested stability with case open and a house fan pointed at mobo ? Obviously not a good solution (though my brother played the wqhol...

One computer shop told me it was a defective processor so I RMA-ed the processor; but it is still happening. Another computer shop managed to solve the problem; but would NOT tell me how, though they told me if I changed anything I would probably get the problem back. Man, this is a doozy. I haven'...

Mac ~are~ pretty cool :> OSX has lots of advantages over its competitors, and is easily the best designed & looking OS around... just not as fast and powerful as Linux ;>

Just to clarify - in case anyone else is momentarily confused - this is not about Mac on a K6.

It's kind-of old news too. OSX on non-apple hardware has been happening for a while :>

I've never known the details of software overclocking, and thought you'd lost your marbles: "Does cpucool support you pII chip" Pentium II, wtf. But, thanks for the heads up. i identified the PLL chip as W127H, which cpucool says it supports (W127). Unfortunately, i'm a linux guy really, a...

fic503+ seems dead

CPU arrived today, after a couple of weeks. It came well packaged and in good condition, and after straightening more than a few leaning pins, it went fine. Seems to hit 600MHz at stock voltage on my AX59pro without any hitches. They're a great CPU alright :> Earlier, i toasted my fic503+. Getting i...

> Building a 2.4 Gig quad core machine

My first thoughts were "4 x K6-2@600MHz = 2.4GHz. Now *that* i'd like to see".
But i don't think that's what you mean ;->
