K6 gurus.. my cel2.4/U8668grand often won't powerup. I've tried a few PSU (300-400w) , video cards , everything in the bios , reseating memory, replacing IDE cables + checking loose jumpers. Just wondering if anyone has a spare k6+. I live in australia and have browsed plenty of markets and on-line stores the last 4 years, but am yet to one for sale. (I did find a k6-III/400).... I ~could~ buy online from upgradeability but it's hard to justify so much $ for such an old CPU. Does anyone...

Clocking k6-III
Overclocking your box to 75*5.5 would probably give you a decent speed-up, if your cpu can handle it. (I already have a 100MHz FSB, and slowing that down is just not worth it. ) Yes, an air gap between the heatsink and the processor is definately bad news. .....I did mess around with a ga586s2 once....

I have a k6-III (2.4v) on an Aopen AX59pro (Tnt2, 128meg). It's really solid, but I can't overclock it at all reliably.
