I have looked at ebay and at the moment nothing seems to be doing. I do have some Crucial PC133 CL2 modules and they should be good for 150fsb and maybe higher. I have seen on some review that they can reach 162Mhz. Benched against some pc150 Mushkin and OCZ pc166 they seem to have done quite well. ...

Tualatin overclocking

After what seems an age I have managed to get a Gigabyte GA-6OXET motherboard. It hasn't arrived yet but I wait in anticipation. The board is meant to support fsb's of 166Mhz and above with 1/5 and 1/6 dividers. Could be interesting for the line up of Tualatins that I have. Could be that the limit o...

Although the EP-MVP3G (2) (M) or (5)is reported to only support 3x128mb of ram I can assure you that I am running 3x256mb low density SDRAM
no problems on any of these boards.

I would recommend the EPOX EP MVP3G-2 which comes with 1Mb onboard cache and will take 3x256Mb SDRAM. The latest BIOS will take all of the K6plus chips. It also has ATA66 like your DFI board. The EPOX also comes with hardware monitoring which a lot of the SS7 boards do not have.

I have a mobile Barton XP2400+ (133x13.5=1800Mhz) running at (166x13.5=2250Mhz) on a recapped Soltek SL-75FRV (KT400 chipset) at default voltage 1.60V. Runs quite nicely, but not with SDRam of course.

Jim,

You probably have looked already, but even the Upgradeware site shows compatibility between your board and the upgradeware slot 1 adapter for tualatin support.

Jim, Why does it matter whether the bios picks up the correct identification of the CPU. So long as everything loads OK and CPUZ shows the correct identification and everything runs OK so what! This is what has happened with running Tualatins on non Tualatin boards with adapters since year dot. If y...

Everest and the MS 694T pro

I have a Tualatin P III-s 1.266MHz cpu in a MSI board with 512Mb cl2 pc133 memory. At boot up the everest scores using 2.20 home version give MR/MW/ML 1024/216/100.8 After browsing the internet for a while I run Everest again and get MR/MW/ML 1024/262/100.8 That's like 20% boost in MW with no tweaki...

With regards to the production code the four letters may have the coding as with the Thoroughbred B cpuz. In that case the third letter would be something to do with the production batch an "A" meaning the first production batch(reputed to be the best for overclocking). An M in the third p...

Kalabok, The earliest K6plus cpu I have is a week 12 2000 and is a K6-2+/450ACZM The earliest K6plus ACZ I have is K6-2+550/ACZ which happens to coincide with the lastest ACZM chip I have which is K6-2+/533ACZM. Both manufactured week 23 2000. The lastest ACZ chip I have is a week 39 chip year 2000 ...

Jim,

Must be a popular week for K6plus's. My 4 K6-III+/450's are exactly the same week of manufacture as yours with all the same codings.

Kalabok, Here is something more to chew over. I have just looked at all of my K6-2+ and K6-3+ cpu's. All of them fall in line with what you describe above apart from two of them as follows. K6-III+/400ATZ 0239FPAW 26727 T707223 Definitely starts with a T K6-2+/400ATZ 0233FPCW 26727 9260853 Definitel...

I think you can improve on that score with wpcredit tweaks. With all tweaks on the Epox MVP3G2 at 550MHz (5.5x100) I think I was getting around 5m15s for a K6plus cpu

I am surprised that your cpu does not boot at 2.0V. for that cpu I would have thought it would boot at about 1.75V or even less. Looking at your motherboard switch layout you have for switches 1-5 2.0V off on on on on 2.1V on off off off off This switch layout is similar to the Epox MVP3G2. So for 2...
