the shipping to austria shouldnt be that expensive, as i am living in zurich now.

about the thermal paste - just looked on the temp of the cpu (2V @600). without anything i get 40C, with that metall melt 34C.

as stated earlier,

i would advise to get a siig combo card.
never used a sata hdd, but the performance for an ata133 was quite satisfying.

one thing that came to my mind. maybe virtual dual channel operation @ 133 fsb is only functional for single rank modules. uranium and me tried with dual rank 256mb modules, i succeded only with 128mb single rank ones. as this chipset is able to eat 512mb modules, maybe 256 in a single rank organisa...

two things that come to my mind. do you have a normal k6-III 450ack? that one should work without problem, as i know only k6-X+ cpus do have problems with p5a boards above rev 1.04 verifying dmi pool data needs some time ... sometimes. i got same problem with a k6bv3, i only had to wait some ... 3 m...

sorry, kachiwachi, i do not remember the numbers for the WD 320gb ide drive, cause i did few tests for a friend, which i bought the drive for. i did some more tests with a maxtor 120gb 6Y120L0 drive and that one got about 84MB/s avarage read and about 9ms access time. as i said, currently the system...

its an 320gb ide drive. about the f6 in windows - ive never done it. but you can be the first to try that out ;)
