I'd recommend these things along with your other stuff below...
------------------------------------
**Abit NF7-S v2.0 Motherboard
(My friend has his Barton OC'd on this board and says its very stable, plus it has the NForce2 Chipset)
**2 Sticks of Kingston HyperX 512Mb DDR RAM
(This is the RAM he's using, also very nice...they have heatsinks. My friend is using PC3200 I believe, but you can go higher to PC3700 if needed)
**Lite-On 16x48 DVDROM Drive
(I own the DVD drive above and its very nice...so I'd also recommend a burner from Lite-On as well)

AMD Barton 2500+ CPU
80Gb Western Digital 8Mb Cache Special Edition
ATI Raedon 9800 Pro
Creative Audigy 2
Keyboard
Mouse

New PC

Well, I'd get it from www.newegg.com They are relatively inexpensive, reliable, and quick. They have a good selection of new stuff and have fantastic resellerratings.

Also, make sure you get a version 2 NForce2 board. It should be more stable at higher front side bus settings. These are sometimes labelled NForce2 400 chipset.

You could also try out the nforce audio solution, and add on the Audigy later if you are unhappy with the nvidia. I've kept the nforce audio solution and think it's fantastic.
E-Machines T6000 (AMD64 3200+) (Don't laugh! It absolutely rocks!)
GigaByte K7N400 Pro2, 3200+, 1 GB DDR, 80 GB WD SE
Epox MVPG5, K6-III+@550, 384 SDRAM, 80 GB WD SE
TX97-XE, K6-III+@400, 256 SDRAM, 40 GB WD HD
