I wrote a config.sys driver for altering k6+ multiplier settings some time ago but never released it. However, it was tested, it does work, and uses the same machine code mechanisms as k6speed to setup the CPU multiplier.
Just email me at kyle_brant@msn.com and I'll send the driver. The instructions are sketchy but it works similarly to k6speed with command switches to set cpu multiplier. This driver was written so that the multiplier can be changed and write allocation can be enabled before emm386 or other memory manager is loaded. Such memory managers prevent access to the hardware, so the driver takes care of things, and unloads itself automatically on exit.
If the driver is desired for posting as a d/l at k6plus.com, just let me know.
K6DOS config.sys driver DOES exist If anyone wants it

Sounds like a good idea if you ask me.
Personally I don't have a need for it, but I'm sure there's people out there who do. I figure just about any useful utility for the K6 procs should be at this site.
