So far, yep. Currently the K6-2+ system listed in my sig below.

It's got 192MB RAM, a 3Com 905 based PCI 10/100 Ethernet card, an Ensoniq AudioPCI sound card (ES1370, pre Creative buyout, using the drivers from the Win98 1st edition CD), Radeon 7500 AGP vidcard 32MB, originally from a low profile Dell server (thanks for the backing plate, Jim!), USB card (4 external, 1 internal, NEC chipset I believe), 80GB hard drive (old, slow, noisy Maxtor), floppy, and a Samsung DVD+-RW/CD-RW drive TS-H542A.

If I ever get a vidcard for the bastardized Slot 1 that's got a slocket and a Celeron 800, that will become the main system.

But for now the K6-2+ is doing everything I need it to do. And Win98SE with the Win98Lite is pretty tough to beat.

*shrugs* I have to admit that as soon as the cash became available, I upgraded my main rig to a 2500+/Abit NF7-s combo...

But I would like to point out that a K62 had been my primary system since '97, additionally I still run 3 K62's around the house with duties ranging from Kids PC gaming platform (K62-350 & M571) to SETI box & server, plus 2 (built y me) out sourced 'in-laws' PCs :)

Naturally... I don't need to tell you the K6's rock! :D

I'm using a K6-III+ 450ACZ on an EPoX MVP3G2 as my main system, having "upgraded" about 5 months ago from an old Socket 7 ECS mobo (TS54P-AIO) running a P1 at 133MHz (Win95). I've also put together a SS7 system for my niece - her first PC.

Well, I have recently migrated from a K6-2 500AFX to a K6-III+ 450ACZ, and this is the only system I have. It's a PCChips M598LMR w/ SiS 530, 512kb of onboard cache, 40gb maxtor 7200rpm, and for while, using the onbo vga. Think next week i'll have already put my radeon 7500 on.

I have been dabbling with SS7 systems now for about 2 years. I have a for a "main rig??" as follows (Now very neglected). :D

Abit NF7-S
XP2200(Thorton) running as XP3000+(Barton)
Asus GF4 4200Ti
120Gig WD 133ATA
DVD/CD/RW combo
2x512mb DDR333 ram dual mode

However I hardly ever use it. I have much more fun messing around with my SS7 system, which at the moment is as follows. (It does change a fair bit just to try out various things)

Asus P5A (V1.4)
K6-2+/500 @ 600 cooled with Globalwin CAK38
Creative SB live 5.1
Voodoo3/3500
20Gig WD HDD 5400rpm
256mb Kingston PC100 cas2 ram
Samsung CD/RW combo
Windows ME

Still plenty of scope for improvements and more fun. Doesn't cost the earth to upgrade and it does everything I need it to do. 8)

My daily K6 system -

DFI 586IPVG, K6-2/+ 450 (Cyrix MII 433), i430VX Chipset, 512KB DRAM Cache, 128MB EDO SIMM, Maxtor 34098H4 B 40GB HD, ACER (BenQ) CD-640A 40X CD-ROM, External Yamaha CRW6416SX 6X/4X/16X SCSI Burner, External ZIP-100 SCSI Removable Drive, USR 56K ISA Hardware FAX Modem, Aztech SC-16 3D (AD 1816 chip) ISA Sound Card, Linksys LNE100TX v4.1 PCI NIC, Adaptec AVA-2902A (AIC-7850 chip) Fast-SCSI PCI Adapter, S3 ViRGE GX (385) PCI Video Adapter, Sampo AlphaScan KM-835 20" Monitor, Adaptec AUA-3121 DuoConnect USB1.1/2.0/IEEE-1394 (Firewire) PCI Adapter, Kingspao 200/220W Switching Power Supply (AT), AAVID Ball-Bearing CPU Cooler, Logitech Traveler Camera, Logitech ClickSmart 510 Camera, Labtec CS-550 Speakers, HP DeskJet 990Cse Printer, Windows 2000 Professional, SP4, Rollup 1.

BIOS patched by BiosMan (Jan Steunebrink).
His Homepage -> The Unofficial AMD K6-2+ / K6-III+ page

Note that I'm only running the K6 at 6x66MHz for 400 MHz at the moment, since I am concerned that the SCSI card will not work well with the bus overclock to 75MHz (PCI = 37.5MHz). Also...the CD-ROM needs to be changed out (failing)...and an ARTEC 56X will go in its place. I also have some Compaq Premier Sound PS-110 (10Wx10W) speakers to add, once I clean up the dirty tone control. ;)

Like Jim, practically all of this was obtained through dumpster diving. :smokin:
