I'm looking to setup my K6-2 rig into an HTPC. I use Win98 right now, but installation of WinXP is possible (i dont have media center edition though) And to my surprise, with the current configuration it actually plays Divx Movies and DVD's without any trouble
However, my "Radeon 32MB DDR" is actually a Radeon LE and has had its BIOS flashed to a 7200 Radeon.
Unfortunately, It has NO S-video or Component Out, just a regular VGA out. I still want to use it in the system. I've searched and found a VGA splitter http://www.monoprice.com/products/produ ... 1&format=1 which turns the VGA signal into a RCA video and S video format.
I know the limitation for Svideo and regular TV sets, but I don't mind the quality. Anyone know if it will work? There have been reports that some Video cards do not accept the above mentioned "VGA Splitter", while others do. Any one have any advice? (Short of buying a diferent card with a dedicated TV Out port) I'm quite partial to my Radeon LE.
Hope that made sense

RE: VGA to Svideo Cable Question
Wish I could help you on that; but I have never gotten around to hooking up my TV to my various Radeons. Don't know anything about it.

Good News Jim, my IBM came with a Matrox G450 agp card (which I swapped with the Geforce4 )
However the G450 http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-MATROX-Milleniu ... dZViewItem
pictured there supports this feature --> http://cgi.ebay.com/Matrox-DVI-I-to2XRG ... dZViewItem
and ON TOP of that it supports TV OUT from the VGA port pictured in the first post I made.
Man, Matrox has some cool configurations, even with their low-end, graphics cards. Kinda makes me wonder why ATi and Nvidia are popular for such featureless products

Received both cables, works pretty well, however does not work on the K6 system, locks up and Matrox emailed me dozens of suggestions and they gave up. I use it with the P3 system now without issues. (I was pretty impressed with Matrox's support, very prompt and knowledgable )
This leads me to wonder, WHAT in the heck is wrong with the Giga-byte board? Should it have gone to the scrap heap long ago?
