As you know lately we have been getting a fair bit of Spam. Tonight when I entered "K" into my search engine, (which auto completes to "K6Plus"), then brought up the web search page with K6Plus, Stuenebrinks site etc on it, (from which I select : "K6Plus for K6 socket 7 users and beyond", or something to that effect, I got hit with a virus. -- Not once but 3 times, as I logged in and out. Fortunately I have good A/V protection, so for me its not a prob. Others may not be so lucky.

I'm guessing you either have spyware or you're seeing false positives.

Will check that, but same thing happened again just now. I think I deleted cookies last night, which in my experience gets rid of 99% of spyware. No time right now . Got to go to work.

Well it comes down to this. Did find Spyware; and removed it. Also found Virus and removed it Stuff is showing up in the ie5 folders. Virus file, (Liveframework[1]JS), was difficult to remove. "Access Denied" - Has to be removed either by A/V or through ERD Commander. Trying to just delete it gets the Arrogant and arbitrary "Access Denied" crap every time; even if the machine is freshly rebooted. Remove it and it comes back as soon as you open the new Sympatico "Live Search". Never had this virus before, and never saw "Live Search" before last night either.

Not sure whether : A) This is a false positive being generated by excellent A/V software that has NEVER done that before; or B) A real virus on Sympatico's new search engine; or C) It's the beginning of the assault on 98 users, i.e. pressure tactics to get us to BUY and upgrade to the latest crap from "MS".

It didn't do anything. Deleted it every time. My A/V catches it every time I open "Live Search", (The new Sympatico search engine), and I delete it every time. Also complained to Sympatico.
