Oh wow, AZ! It's been years. I guess you should be MNK6er now eh?

Not too much new with me. Still in TX with Brit. Trying to stay in shape while I slowly get as old as you. :P

I've been mildly interesting in photography myself, but not enough to get anything better than a point & shoot camera. Still fun to snap away and see what I can get though.

You should stop by IRC some time. Relay and I are on pretty often.

I'm on my Son-in-Law's Dell Notebook with Win XP SP3. What do I need to do chat ? Please tell Britt I said "Hey" will Ya ? My youngest daughter "Brittany" just got married a couple months ago, we flew down to AZ just so I could give her away. Sorry it took me so long to answer you guyz, I don't get on but maybe twice a week. Recently been messing with my much loved fedora 7 box to get it working with my Huawei USB modem, and making a second C2D box for when my Asrock 4coredual-sata2 finally die.s

Trying to sell a couple of boxes too. [Tried to attach my advert, but attachment size is 150k. wtf!] I counted up my 10 mobos last week.
Still have my ax59pro and an AT power supply in the cupboard.

How many working mobos has everyone got ?

If you mean Super 7s, I have 4 Asus P5A-Bs of various types, (1 Rev 103, 2 Rev 104, and 1 Rev 105), 2 DFI K6BV3+/66 2 Meg Cache Boards, 1 FIC VA_503 +, and 1 other ALI chipset board, that I could'nt find just now. Apart from Super 7s, I have 2 FIC KA_6100s, 5 Gigabyte GA_6VA7+ boards, 1 Intel D 815 EFPV, and 1 Gigabyte P-35-DS3L Rev 2 board. - More than I'll ever need.

My Fic VA 503 died for some reason :<-(

I've never found a 1meg L2 board either, never mind 2meg. Ebay.com.au: 0 results found for "socket 7"

Well you should try now... there's a fella over in Jim's corner of the world asking a motza for SS7 platforms now, I mean really almost $200 for a vintage PC Chips mainboard? :P

You guys are literally sitting on a gold mine if those prices are any measure, I fully regret selling off my AX59pro

Hmmm... I kindof doubt it, though they are hard to find nowadays.
I'm down to my last S7 board... My reliable Ax59Pro, which will hopefully run if i ever need it again :>

You doubt what? that I regret selling off my AX59pro? let me put it this way I replace capacitors on motherboards before I pronounce them dead, you could say I give them a fighting chance... sadly to fund my last gaming machine build I parted company with a few reconditioned motherboards SS7 & s462 ;)

I've still got a legit K62-550 (not an OC'ed sample) that has no home, besides the Epox MVP3C2 I had that AX59pro was my favourite (sold it off on eBay).

That's the beauty of the internet you can get stuff shipped Internationally (still a rip off price IMHO) :eek

Geez I dunno Jim... tell you what, send me a sample and I promise to give it an extremely thorough evaluation

You doubt what?

I doubt that the boards will fetch a lot of money. But they're definitely worth holding onto.

Actually, i think there's a SS7 board i put into one of my bosses PCs that is still used. If i ever get the chance, i'll try to reclaim it.

I'll take the GA-5AA ;> The Gigabyte S7 boards i tried always went well.... Hmmm, except one SIS chipset one i think. Can't remember which.
I've still got a legit K62-550
I used to have one also, but the fact that they were just a stock K6-2 500 factory OC'ed was very apparent, as it ran hot, was unstable and wouldn't OC one extra MHz, so i had no fondness for it.

The factory 550's were better than an enthusiast OC as the factory deemed it more stable than the 533/500 cores they released (which we in turn OC'ed), as far as running hot you'd expect that at the higher Vcore (and using the generic heatsinks of that period), the answer was simple remove the IHS & upgrade to a socket A premium heatsink (and use quality thermal compound)

The above image is of my former "naked" K62-500 which ran stable at 600Mhz, mind you extensive case modifications (enhanced ventilation) were a necessity, it ran the Folding@Home client 24/7 for over 12 months... 20% more out of your processor back then wasn't too shabby!

Which would you prefer Taz; a DFI K6BBV3+/66 Rev B 2 Meg board, or an ASUS P5A-B Rev 104 ?

I've always had a hankering for DFI mainboards, but seriously Jim you keep them (and build more K6X beasts) I'm sure if I keep my ear to the ground one will simply fall into my lap (currently I'm overstocked with s462/s370 parts & systems)

Now that I note K6Plus has an "other platforms" sub forum I'll be back
