MSI Geforce 4 4400

Post by BENCHMARKMAN »

I'm thinking about getting the MSI Geforce 4 4400. I want something new because my Radeon 8500 just doesn't seem to be able to keep up as well anymore. Anybody have any comments on this video card or other Geforce 4 cards?
Asus A7M266
. T-bird @ 1.33ghz
. 256mb PC2100 DDR
. Ati Radeon 8500 LE @ 275/275
. Windows Xp

I don't have any suggestions on the GF4, but a question. In what ways is the 8500 not keeping up? Mine, in my Athlon rig, seems to take everything I throw at it and ask for more.

Whatever you decide, you should probably wait until the R300 is out and the prices drop big time on the GF4's.
Epox MVP3G5,K6-3+450@618,256MB SDRAM,CL GF2 GTS,IBM 60GXP 20GB,Fortissimo II Sound
ASUS TX97-XE,K6-3+450@500,256MB SDRAM,Voodoo4 4500 PCI,WD 40GB,SB AWE64 Sound

Well it's a little sluggish with AA, I really like AA. In C&C Renegade it barely getts 30fps at 800x600. Also I believe it is the cause of my D3D stuttering problem that I was never able to solve.
Asus A7M266
. T-bird @ 1.33ghz
. 256mb PC2100 DDR
. Ati Radeon 8500 LE @ 275/275
. Read my post above about the games. What are you talking about 3dmark not being a game <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /smile.gif ALT=":)"> . Dont forget your radeon is like near geforce 4 4600 level because of your overclocking.
Asus A7M266
. T-bird @ 1.33ghz
. 256mb PC2100 DDR
. Ati Radeon 8500 LE @ 275/275
. Yeah but your running performance AA or AA is disabled due to the resolution you are using. BTW, performance AA doesn't work.
Asus A7M266
. T-bird @ 1.33ghz
. 256mb PC2100 DDR
. Ati Radeon 8500 LE @ 275/275
. Windows Xp

I just got the Geforce 4 today, and all I can is OMFG this video card is awesome. I cant understand why I ever bought an ATI video card after using the Geforce 4. To me it was wealth worth the upgrade.
Asus A7M266
. T-bird @ 1.33ghz
. 256mb PC2100 DDR
. Ati Radeon 8500 LE @ 275/275
. Windows Xp
