Another K6Plus Giveaway - About friggin' time! K6III 450 AFX
I finally was able to test that K6III 450 AFX 2.2v CPU I recently acquired. I only tested it briefly, and once I remembered to shut off k6clkini (a CPU clock adjustment program that only works with + cpu's), it booted right into windows with no issues. I even overclocked it mildly (464MHz; 4.5 x 103) and ran 3dmark 2001 at stock voltage (2.2v). It ran the test with no problems, and everything looked fine (if a bit slower than the 568 MHz I usually run the test at). Temp was 32 degrees celsuis at the end of the test (i.e. CPU unfazed).

So, the short form. Respond to this thread if you would like a chance to win this fine piece of workmanship. This is a .25 micron CPU, so don't expect a lot of overclocking potential (i.e. if you are able break 475 MHz with this CPU, you are doing better than a lot of other people using this CPU). Limit one entry per person - but you knew that already!

Two more things. We will NOT be doing a mass emailing to forum members this time, as we would like this chip to go to a regular visitor of our site. I will announce the winner on the morning of Saturday, December 28th.

Good luck to all!
<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /happy.gif ALT=":D">

Edited by: <A HREF=http://pub70.ezboard.com/bk6plus67153.s ... rtoastz>Mr Toastz at: 12/20/02 4:13:25 am

Please help my poor Asus P5A-B Rev 1.05, which can't use a K6-x+. It is begging for a classic K6-III, and would forever be grateful to you if you would kindly count its owner (me) in.

Long live the almighty K6!!!!!

K6-2 running strong....
Just in case you're interested I ran UT2003 on my K6-2 533 the other day and the fps was quite respectable.

I don't know exactly what the figure was, I was just going off the "feel" and in this respect it is much better than in Q3 I must say.
