OK, now I need to think...

GrahamV, I have your email and Mulvihill's address. I didn't realize before that you were across the pond for some reason, and this gives me some interesting options (i.e. there may be another K62+450 to give away)...

It would be helpful to know which countries the following people live in...

Sandells
Fafurion
cooliscool123
Lankshire
4thman
Chewbacca1 (not part of the first drawing, but may include him in the followup)

People I am pretty sure where they are from...
jsc1973 (USA)
mulvihill (I have his address)
Manaroa (Australia)
io333 (USA)

Let me know people!

My sig

not allowed

Now to figure out where Lankshire is from...

Post by Mr Toastz »

Grahamv, I have a plan...

I'm thinking that your K62+ 450 should go to a European member of K6Plus (because we haven't had a winner in that neck of the woods yet - athough we did have a winner in Australia about a year and a half ago). Do you concur with me holding a new drawing for the Euro members only?

As for Mulvihill, I have you covered... if Grahamv concurs, I have a K62+ 450 laying around somewhere I'll send to you (seeing Graham's would cost a bit to ship here).

That leaves KingV's K6III 333, which I will draw another name for (as soon as Grahamv shares his thoughts on this).

Seems OK to me, but just a couple of points/queries:

1. I don't think the postage costs will be very different (unless it happens to be a UK winner), so I'm not greatly concerned on that matter.

2. Are there enough active european members of the board to make a separate draw viable (count me out of the draw for a start - I'd hardly want to post the chip to myself <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /frown.gif ALT=":("> )

3. As far as the K6 III prize, I've taken on board your point that my 450 is a known quantity, and that there might be a lot of time wasted if I take the 333 then find it won't do what I want. Whether it does or not, there would be a delay while I get round to trying it. So perhaps, on balance, it would be best to leave the 333 as the prize. But I wouldn't mind hearing what other people think.

Hey, I've really blown your nice simple one-off draw for one chip out of the water, haven't I.

Regards to all

Now what CPU is left?

Post by Chewbacca1 »

Like I posted before, AFAIK Tigerdirect is still selling K6-2 450s for $35 bucks shipped. I will prolly be buying a cheap K6-2 350 to replace me OCed P166MMX @ 250 <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... ns/eek.gif ALT=":eek"> , I do hope That a 350 will be OCable to 400 like the ones I've had in the past. I guess a K6-III 333 won't go much further than 350 on a 100Mhz fsb. The most interesting CPU for most of the posters would be the K6-2 I assume. Either way, should this still take as long untill I snatch a cheap K6-2 350 off ebay, I should win the next draw, I am willing to donate that (potential) K6-2 350. If it is up to me I can wait for grahamv to check out that K6-III 333 in exchange for a potential cpu.

Chewie.

Just to confuse things:

I have the following two items I do not think I will ever use:

1. Some kind of ATI Rage card, AGP, 8 megs I think -- I have to find it first to see exactly what it is. I think it's a "Rage Pro" but I'm not sure.

2. A 750Mhz Duron that clocks fine to 900 at 1.85 volts but that I always ran stock speed at .05 volts below spec (I had a bad K6-3+/450 O/Cing experiment that made me give up O/Cing). I think I used it for about 5 months.

If the winner of the K6-3/333 wants to trade for one of those, I'll do it.

If that happens (which means I actually have to go to the post office), I'll throw the remaining item up here as a giveaway contest item and mail it to the winner for that item at the same time as I mail the trade item.

tigerdirect....

Post by His Royal Majesty King V »

Actually, the TigerDirect deal is . . well, a so-so deal...

The K6-2+ 450 is $34.99, but their least expensive shipping method is UPS ground . . which, to my address, they charge $9.43 for, bringing the price to $44.42. Still not shabby, but definitely a pricey shipping and handling rate.

Still probably beats out a lot of the eBay deals though...

OK!!! Mulvihill, wait patiently...

Post by Mr Toastz »

Mulvihill has a K62+ 450 on the way to him (as soon as I dig it out...)

KingV, keep that 333 in a safe place until Mulvihill gets his CPU (just in case it gets lost in the mail and we need to send him the 333 instead). Then I will announce the winner of the 333.

GrahamV, we do have a few Euro members (not sure how many have been around recently though), and with the post 9/11 headaches trying to get anything in or out of this country... well the Euro K6 drawing is about to commence (see new thread!)
