Hey when did the latest posts move to the left side of the screen?

Way to go K6plus (Admin) constantly striving for improvement! :)

Thanks for the feedback. I did it on a whim yesterday. ;) I think the extra screen width is useful here in the forum. Hopefully everyone agrees that it's for the better.

What "screen size" are you targeting?

I did notice (a long time ago) that when the"text block" is small (minimum size?), the "LOGOUT" button shifts to a second line, therefore messing up that bar in the display. Perhaps the minimum needs to be raised a bit to combat this?

BTW - I like the new format as well. 8)

Hmm never noticed that before but you're right. I think it'd probably fine to leave it as is. It doesn't look that bad and it beats having to scroll horizontally I figure. How many people still browse at 800x600 anyway?

I'm not really shooting for a particular "screen size". Just thought about that right column one day and decided it didn't make sense to have it over there. As you can tell we're highly professional around here.

when I came back here today I first noticed that the information on the right side was gone but I did not really care ... then I wrote a reply to a post and had the feeling that something had changed ... so much room to move, ahh ... but I was not able to put these two things together! :) and then I walked into this thread and suddenly everything made sense :)

congrats, well done!

in these times of uproar and turmoil I take my chance and definitely vote for a longer list of latest posts!

also I would like to see frontpage some quick info about
- # posts last 24/48/72 hours

ooops, am I demanding? ;)

eh, what about placing the "site features" atop of all in that big blue k6plus-header? ..... reach me one finger and I will pull the whole hand! :)

Hehe, sorry to confuse your fragile little mind.

I've upped the number of latest posts shown from 3 to 6. I've also made them vertically scrolling so they'll all fit in a smaller space. Let me know if you guys like it, hate it, want to change it back, etc.

I'll see about adding daily post counts. It may be possible, I'm not certain.

As for moving the main menu that's going to have to stay there for now. I'm pretty sure that'd be a lot of work to move. Might be a project for the future, we'll see. :busy

Thanks for suggestions!

If I didn't wear my glasses I'd probably have to do the same. But I do so 1600x1200 for me!

You could have dual monitors with half the width of the site on each. :D

yes, very funny idea!! but the point is that he has to look at the two monitors with each eye focussed on just one !!!

the farther you put the monitors apart the better! KachiWachi, let us know how far you can go!! :D

Well, another reason I stay there is for the 85Hz refresh rate.

800 x 600 = 85 Hz, 24-bit color
1024 x 768 = 75 Hz, 24-bit color
1152 x 864 = 60 Hz, 24-bit color

One day I'll find a VooDoo4 4500... and that will be that. ;)

So it's not your monitor limiting your refresh rate, it's your video card? Wow, you just don't run across that problem much anymore. Makes me all nostalgic, hehe.

Me I have my monitor set at 768 by 1024. 17" monitor w/ low refresh rate (60Hz) - hoping for less stress for old monitor (max = 75Hz) being used by another old guy w/ glasses. As far as I know my browser is no different, though I could be wrong about that. I have noticed that when I view posts w/ photos in them, I have to scroll sideways to view the text.

The features that I use most are forums, and latest posts. Would prefer to be able to see those two items without having to scroll; but you can't have everything. Also preferred the non scrolling version of latest posts.

I made it scroll as a compromise between showing more posts vs real estate. I can speed up the scrolling, make the scrolling area larger, or just make the whole thing static.

Cake and Super Relay both seem to prefer the scrolling. What say you guys?
