So I was looking at our site referrals when it hit me...
As you all have noticed, we have ALL of our news since site inception archived and accessable via the front page.

Well, I was looking over our site referral logs when I noticed that our archives are starting to get a lot of hits. This struck me as a little odd until I realized...

The search engines are going into our archives to find stuff. This means that people hit our page briefly to find out about various things!

Is this a good thing? Well, if we get a few people to stick around, I think so. We should be able to maintain these archives for some time yet, even if a lot of the older links/pics no longer work. While people probably don't weed through our archives a lot, I would imagine that they are handy in some rare cases.

Anyone else have thoughts on this?

Edited by: <A HREF=http://pub70.ezboard.com/umrtoastz.show ... uage=EN>Mr Toastz at: 4/20/02 1:47:17 am

Re: So I was looking at our site referrals when it hit me...
So then, If our archives are being perused and some of the links are dead (for whatever reason) then we should prolly make it a point to have at least a moderate length (as opposed to short) blurb that is discriptive and not just a teaser line to get someone to click on the link, as that might be all they get. The pic's (if any) we won't be able to do anything about unless we start storing them on site.

Traffic in the archive room, interesting.
