I think the model you're looking for is LegenX and not Legend.

There's no reason why PC100 shouldn't work.

Have you tryed fiddling with the RAM timings?

I think the LX chipset is limited by whatever to only 66 bus speed .
(Sucks)

Nice setup for a Baby AT socket 370 board had it better Bus speed selections .

Yes, but PC100/133 would just run at 66mhz by default if you were to put in a an LX chipset mobo.

Jim wrote:The board is a bit oddball re speed settings - what it does is automatically sense the processor speed, (up to 533), and set it accordingly. It does give you the option of overclocking the bus; with settings available for 66, 68, 75, & 83 mhz; but it does not allow you to set the multiplier. I have had it stable at 600 mhz. That is :

(533 = 8x66 - [automatic] - with the bus reset to 75, = 8x75=600). I called QDI and they said double sided low density Inferon or Micron ram should work. I guess it just doesn't like "Kingston" - but then who does ? - thats a penetentiary in this country.
Hey... don't be insulting :P my MSI 6161 has exactly the same fsb settings, additionally the boards of the era were reportedly only able to support up to 466Mhz (despite also using a 533 )

However I found the 400 more OC'able using the 83fsb setting (the 533 doesn't like above 68fsb much :()

Also I've used Pc66/100/133 no difficulties @ all, except NB heat issues r/t high fsb (fixed with custom NB H/sink) :)

As far as posting links... right click the mouse over the 'ad' you wish to use (copy)... (when in post mode) click URL... paste particular 'ad' then close link coding by clicking on Close Tags ;)

Every Intel CPU from the Pentium II (including your Celeron) upwards has been multiplier locked, meaning that overclocking is only possible from upping the FSB. It's perfectly normal.

Even the latest P4s are multi locked.

Yes it does :P unfortunately as the multiplier is locked within the die... little tricks that used to work with AMD processors wont work, actually the newer release AMD are locked in a similar fashion :(
(with the exception of the FX51's & Opertrons)

FSB OCing only...
Jim wrote:QDI Excellent 5. (Baby AT Slot 1 w/AGP 3xPCI 2xISA - has slocket w/ 533 celeron installed); and that one allows the multiplier to be manually set up to 8x.
Actually my MSI 6161 has that too, doesn't make a difference in the slightest though, due to the reason mentioned above...

Well, that sux....and the fact that AMD is doing the same sux even worse....

Ya, I've heard the Barton XP 2500+ after week 36 of production are locked....

I was planning on getting one of those, but not if it's going to be locked....

You can get mobile Bartons that are unlocked, and they apparently overclock like crazy.
E-Machines T6000 (AMD64 3200+) (Don't laugh! It absolutely rocks!)
GigaByte K7N400 Pro2, 3200+, 1 GB DDR, 80 GB WD SE
Epox MVPG5, K6-III+@550, 384 SDRAM, 80 GB WD SE
TX97-XE, K6-III+@400, 256 SDRAM, 40 GB WD HD
