Hi!
I'm having problems when i try to install Windows XP Professional SP2 on that system:
=======================================
Compaq Presario 7463
AMD K6-2 500mhz
128mb SDRAM PC-100
HD 10.0 Gb
GF4 MX4000 128mb 64-bit
Onboard Video: Trident Blade 3D/MVP4 (disabled)
Onboard Audio: ESS Allegro 1989
4 USB Ports
Compaq Motherboard based on Via MVP4 Chipset (VT 8501). 512kb cache
=======================================
And i'm having the following issues:
- Some detonator drivers (6x.xx and above) recognize my PCI video card as an AGP video card. And activate AGP Texture Acceleration on DX9c. (only happens in Xp-sp2, SP1 or 9x windows versions works fine)
- And, when i try to play any game, Windows cashes and reboot. This happen only in D3D games, OPENGL games run fine. only happens in Xp-sp2, SP1 or 9x windows versions works fine)
- One of my PCI slots don't work anymore on Xp-sp2. only happens in Xp-sp2, SP1 or 9x windows versions works fine)
- Onboard Video crash when windows try to install the apropriate drivers, i've downloaded one's from VIA Website. But the same thing happens. (only happens in Xp-sp2, SP1 or 9x windows versions works fine)
- If i try to install windows xp sp2 with onboard video activated, windows installation crash with no errors. (only happens in Xp-sp2, SP1 or 9x windows versions works fine)
- The only solution i've found to install the OS is plug a pci vga card and disable onboard video.
MVP4 based motherboards don't work fine on Win XP with SP2 installed? Anyone had this problems?
I really appreciate your help friends...
Thanks to all

Why not stay with SP1 then?
I'd add more RAM first off...then see what happens.

If it were me, I'd use 1A. I have always referred to "XPService Pack 2" as "Garbage Pack 2" - avoid it like the plague.
