This is a little late, but I have a hot591p to and I'm waiting for a k62+ 550acz from ebay to arrive (from that German auction with a few of them). For now I'm running a k6-IIIp 380 afk @4.5x95 2.3v (428mhz).
I'll post results as soon as I can, so let's see if I'm lucky...

Ooook, I just put the brand new shiny k6-2+ 550acz on my hot-591p rev 2.0. Latest official bios detects it correctly as a k6-2+, I started it from post to XP sp2 at 2.1v 5x95mhz fine (mems are 256mb+64mb, 4 way BI, 2-2-2-5 (turbo) and everything at fastest settings, 1:1, l3 onboard cache enabled), then 5x100, then 5.5x100 2.1v for some testing. Superpi 1M went fine, windows looked stable. Up for 6x100 2.1v, 1M fine! Now I'm at only 2.0v 6x100mhz, 1M is fine, and it's been running a prime95 blend test for more than one hour!

Thanks! Well, it did 14h of prime95 blend without errors, so I'll give it a rest for now. In previous testing with my older k6-iiip I found that bios settings were very flaky memorywise. As an example, if the non populated edo slots were set to turbo instead of normal it would toss errors or fail to boot sometimes.
I haven't tweaked xp yet, but I'm a little disappointed with it's performance. My older k6iiip @428 would do 6:09 in 1M test in a clean win2k, while in XP SP2 it would take 6:44, that's a huge difference. Now this k62+ @600 is doing 6:04 which seems a bit on the high side but notably faster than the previous cpu, despite less cache. I wonder how it would do in 2k...

edit: Ok, disabling only a couple of stuff as cleatype and sys restore it goes down to 5:30, and it's still got a lot more services running than 2k. So I guess that if I strip XP to 2k services only it will run as fast.

Now, my priorities will be to up it to 512mb (some say 256mb is max for this board, which is wrong! I'm running with a 256mb stick double sided plus a 64mb, so it should do 512MB with 2x256MB DS), and silence the box.
