Questions about SiS530 based Gigabye GA-5SMM

Post by KenB »

"512mb ram-module (low density, 32Mx8 organization)"
1.) Was this ever discovered to work? A 512MB module on one slot?

2.) Also, I went through all 13 pages on one of the threads regarding this mobo, but honestly, it was too much for me to take in. Can someone just give me the bottom line on using 133mhz FSB for this thing? If not likely to work, is 112 or 124Mhz FSB a good option?

3.) Finally, 512Kb cache...enable or disable?

4.) I am thinking if using a Linux OS on this system, so disabling the onboard video, I assume, is just in the BIOS? Because any Windows components won't apply.

I guess basically, I'm just looking for a summary of all that was said. But the questions above are highlighted in my mind.

Thanks! :)

Re your number one question, yes, see : "Ram question for Giga-byte GA-5AX rev 2. (Update 7-9-06)" by "KGB" on page two of this forum. Re your other questions, I don't know, I don't have one of those boards, and have not paid much attention to the threads about them.
