geforce 6600 compatibility?

Post by socket7! »

Welcome!

Long time ago there was a topic here devoted to benchmarking of various graphic cards, which are capable to run on a k6 system. As far as I remember, an author mentioned a 6600 card, which he could plug in an old AGP 3.3V with no pain. I also remember, that he didn't reveal the name of the card, and then, the topic dissapeared!

Does anyone have a clue, what card was it?

Not me. Though if you search the hardware / Tech Corner forums it should still be there somewhere. Page 2, maybe page 3 etc.

hello socket7,

that guy was me. the card was a sparkle 6600gt and the thread is still there, look here

other threads relating grafic cards and socket7 are here, here and here.

if you consider to put any geforce card in your socket7 system that is later than the fx-59xx card series (6xxx and up) you really should read what is written about it in the last link I provided.
