Was wondering if I disable the L2 on a K6-III+ cpu through the BIOS, is the L2 cache actually powered OFF, or is it still receiving power, but simply disabled or bypassed?

I don't know. Not even the foggiest idea. Suppose you would have to get the tech sheets for the board involved, they might not all be the same in that regard.

The "Disable L2 Cache" option in the BIOS will not disable the L2 cache on the K6-3 but rather the integrated L2 cache on the motherboard.

Oops, that is what I thought he meant, ergo my comment about the mobo tech sheets. But re-reading his original post I see you are right Uranium235.

"tech sheets"? You mean "user manual"? I'm not aware of tech sheet for mobos. Mine is a FIC PA-2013 w/ 1MB L2 cache onboard. Nice board.
