DFI JP7,8 & 10 ???

Post by deerhaven »

Hi,

I 'm in the process of setting a DFI K6BV+/66 2MB. There are 2 jumpers on it, that are not listed in manual. One is JP7/8, the other is JP10. What are they for? And which position should they run in?

Thanks,
dh

OK, JP8 controls the 97MHz FSB option
It should always be set to 1-2 unless you want 97 MHz for some reason. pin 1 is towards the top of the board (where The SDram slots are)

JP10 is for setting your CPU Voltage below 2.0 volts. It is set along with JP5. Leave set to 1-2 (1 being towards top again) unless you want to go below 2.0 volts.

Incidentally, JP5 should always be set to 1-2 unless you plan on running your cpu at 3.3 volts or higher (since K6III+ is a 2.0 volt chip, this would be very bad).

I am not seeing a jp7 in my manual. J7 and J8 are Fan headers, but these should have little tabs and thus be pretty obvious.
My sig

Thanks Toastz,

This is what I needed. The JP7 is printed above to the JP8 on the board. But, there is only one jumper there. They where already set as you said. This is a used board. I just wanted to check out everything.

Thanks again,
dh

Set JP4 to CPU unless you are still using PC66 SDram
My sig
