exhaust fans/GPU core temps

Post by pedrogad »

The Leadtek GF2Ti has been running well in my Gigabyte GA-5AA board, but I wasn't too happy at the heat it generated over the previous MX card. The Ti Nvidia chip was showing 60C under load, but the addition of an exhaust fan extractor has brought the card's chip core temp down to 50C. Just bought one of those cheapo jobs which screw into the back plate, like an expansion card. Because the Leadtek fan is offset in one corner, the exhaust fan doesn't compete for air. A good job for 4 quid in the UK, and quiet too (compared with the FOP32-1!). It's an old desktop case and all a bit tight, so may fit a front fan sometime. I can't get a reply from Leadtek on temps, but is 50C under load ok now for the GPU?
