Wow , who would have thought after all of this time that there would be another P5 BIOS. Wonder what this one does and why they issued it, it's been like a year since the last one...

OK, I flashed and installed the new BIOS. I didn't see any new options compared to the beta .04 It works exactly identical as the prior bios. No better, no worse. I played Q3 for a while and it is as stable as before but no improvement nor decrease in performance. This bios is dated May 2nd 2002 so it's very recent and I still don't have a clue as to why they released it nor what they modified. At least it works and keeps all your settings after the flash. That's all folks <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /happy.gif ALT=":D">

Maybe...

Post by georgep1 »

A post over at the amdzone k6 forum commented that it fixed ACPI issues and was more compatible with Win2K/XP. They hopefully speculated that maybe it fixed the K6-x+ performance bug in later revisions of the motherboard, but no one with a later revision board has posted any such thing.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://pub70.ezboard.com/ugeorgep1.show ... eorgep1 at: 5/16/02 8:01:40 pm

Mine is a revision 1.3 so I wouldn't be able to comment on that...
