VA-503+ in a ATX box?

Post by mulvihill »

Is anyone running a VA-503+ in a ATX case? I note that it will accept either power supply and I dont really care about not having an AT keyboard connection; USB makes a little more sense. Are there any other other issues to be addressed?

Yes it works like a champ. No issues at all. Also USB is not your only option as AT to PS2 adapters are plentiful also.

I've done it before. It works just fine on the AT or the ATX power supply. The most versatile motherboard in the history of computers, if you ask me.

FIC VA-503+, Rev. 1.2, AMD K6-III+ 450@550MHz, 80GB Seagate ATA-100, 3dfx Voodoo3 3500 TV, TB Montego II Quadzilla, Win98se, 384MB PC100

Compaq Presario 1273, AMD K6-III+ 450@400MHz 1.8v, 40GB Samsung 5400RPM, extremely hacked Win98SE, 288 (yes, 288!) MB RAM
(Also an AMD FX-8350, which does the heavy lifting these days...)

The 503+ might be the first MB of PC history worthy of classic status. Maybe we should do a 503+ tribute page here at the site?
