Got given a case for one of these things; and it still had the motherboard and two extension boards in it. One with 6 PCI slots, the other with 6 slots for front panel removable SCSI drives to plug into. Also had the power supply and a floppy; but no RAM or processors in it. Actually I was given 3 Compac Server cases. 1 Is a P2 Dual processor item, which came in the same state as the P3 one, and the third was a completely empty case, in beter shape than the other 2.
Thinking about rebuilding the P3 one. I have 3 sticks of 256Meg PC100CL2 SynchECC RAM that I bought by mistake because it doesn't work in my other boards. Don't know if it would work in this thing either, but worth a try. Other thing I am wondering is, would it be possible to put a couple of Upgradeware Slot Ts in this thing then run a pair of 1.4GHz Tualatins in it ? Probably have to get new RAM for it PC133 anyway, but wondering if the Tualatins would be viable. I definitely LIKE the idea of having 6 front panel removable, just stick them in and they plugin automatically, SCSI drives, and there is no other way I could ever afford something like this.
