Movin on up!

Post by cooliscool123 »

I used to run my K6-2 500 @ 550 (5x110) but i found out my pll and to my luck, CpuCool supports it! Now i'm running at 4.5x120 (540mhz), which is *much* faster than before, large increase in speed. Damn, i really need to take more tests. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /smile.gif ALT=":)">

Go <a href="http://www.ngemu.com/forums/attachment. ... For a pic in Wcpuid. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /smile.gif ALT=":)">

Edited by: <A HREF=http://pub70.ezboard.com/bk6plus67153.s ... cool123 at: 11/18/02 7:43:49 pm

K6-2 Classic chips at high speeds are just starved for cache and memory bandwidth. Any increase in the FSB is a significant gain in performance on those chips. I bet you're 15 percent faster in real-world performance with 10 less MHz.

FIC VA-503+, Rev. 1.2, AMD K6-III+ 450@550MHz, 80GB Seagate ATA-100, 3dfx Voodoo3 3500 TV, TB Montego II Quadzilla, Win98se, 384MB PC100

Compaq Presario 1273, AMD K6-III+ 450@400MHz 1.8v, 40GB Samsung 5400RPM, extremely hacked Win98SE, 288 (yes, 288!) MB RAM
(Also an AMD FX-8350, which does the heavy lifting these days...)
