k6speed under win2k

Post by skagerrak »

Hallo, I now have installed k6speed. The only thing I want to know is how to install it in a way, that it starts up automatically with the settings I used before. (Yes, I DID install it as an administrator!)

Many Thanks

Hello,
Setk6 may not work on win2K. Setk6 needs to be unzipped then you must run sysedit and put C:/setK6 xxm in autobat.exe with xx as the amount of memory on your system. There are other options though. Please see the post enable all + functions any OS in this forum. There are a good variety of other programs there specific to the + model. Sysid is free and can enable write allocation and multiplier at startup plus there are autobat.exe programs for speculative write ordering and write combining. I use them instead of setk6 for setk6 causes 100% CPU use on my system at all times while the others don't. There is, of course, powertwaek which enables all functions at startup or when you want to turn it on and I believe it is $25.00. Rawpower does the same but is no longer supported by the maker who will grant permisson to still use(free) it if you email him. Regards,

We're talking about K6Speed.
K6Speed works fine under W2K. Just create a shortcut to the program and add the start up switches that you want to the command line.
Then place the shortcut in the start up folder for all users.
That's all there is to it.
Thanks, Revhead
