Enable All + Functions Any Win OS

Post by dusty1 »

Hello,
It's great to find this site. I really have been at it alone, I thought, since ss7 and K6 + ,while still very usable CPUs, are mostly considered "old tech" Here are some links to programs I've found most useful for II+/III+ models. Regards,

http://www.aceshardware.com/Spades/read ... d=15000166
These are apps to enable most plus functions at startup and a great article on plus models. Powertweak can still be found and Rawpower can be found yet is discontinued by the writer. Just scroll down, unzip and follow instructions.

This little free program is one of the few that accuratly identifies the L3 cache. It has a benchmark, desktop multipler and write allocate tweaks plus a slideshow of the creation of CPUs.

This is the author and "father" of many K6 tweaks and enablers home. All function downloads available here for free.

Don't mean to step on toes, you may already know about all this;however, these are the answers to many of the questions seen here. Regards,
emachines333cs
K6 2+@601.33
256ram 20.4g 7200 Caviar
AMI 2000 on Delhi3
Win98 IE6
400w Fastethernet 10/100

Well most of the old regulars here were around when Uart of Uart's utilities, Rob Mueller of CTU, and Kyle Brant of K6Speed fame frequented here, or in the old K6 forum at www.amdzone.com They were regulars back in the 2000/2001 timeframe when the 2+ and III+ came out and were big topics of conversation.

Of course some of the newer members here don't have the history, but most of them have motherboards that enable the main features of the K6+ CPUs.

http://web.inter.nl.net/hcc/J.Steunebrink/k6plus.htm

is a great resource for patched BIOS's for old motherboards that would not otherwise recognize or enable all the features of the K6+ CPUs.

Another interesting site is

www.rom.by

which features a BIOS patcher that will patch any Socket7/Super7 AWARD BIOS for K6/K6+ recognition and enabling features (among many other things). The site is in Russian, but there is an English page containing info on an older version of the patcher. However, if you use this program, download the latest one, not the one linked from the English page. This patcher will also enable recognition of HDs up to 128 GB on old mobos.

Welcome to the site.
