PCR File Downloads Here

Post by Jim »

In addition to standard MVP3 and the odd ALi PCR files, I have the following PCR files that I, (in my ignorance), don't have the foggyist idea of what they are for. If anyone wants any of them let me know.

80861130.pcr; 8086122d.pcr; 80861a20.pcr; 80861a21.pcr; 80861a22.pcr; 80862410.pcr; 80862411.pcr; 80862412.pcr; 80862418.pcr; 80862500.pcr; 80862501.pcr; 80867100.pcr; 80867190.pcr; 80867191.pcr; 80867192.pcr; and finally, kt133.pcr.

Though thinking about it, most of them are probably for the old intel 8086, and not of the slightest interest to anyone.

K, here is what I am going to do; gonna attach every pcr file I have, (including some not so common MVP3 files), right here.

Re-EDIT : Have available 4 PCR files for ALi, (2 are probably 2 versions of the same one) 14 PCR files for Via, (i.e. 11 different PCR files, 3 of which have 2 different versions) plus the 8086 PCR files named.

EDIT : Well I tried; but it seems that the file extension "PCR" is not allowed in attachments. Two ways around that, I could rename all the files changing the extension to "TXT", or people could just send me an e-mail address to send them to. The former method is kinda circumventing site rules via slease tactics, so unless Nohr gives permission, I shall rely on the second.

Jim, I am interested in those pcr files. They are getting harder to find these days and you never know when you may need them.
There is a way you may be able to identify them. Try opening the files with notepad and maybe the author left a description.

The "convention" has been to name the PCR file by the Manufacturer and Device ID...so 80861130.pcr would be Manufacturer 8086 (Intel) and Device ID 1130 (82815 Chipset Host Bridge and Memory Controller Hub). This is not a requirement however (kt133.pcr),

You can open the file with Notepad and read the text, or just tell WPCredit to open it anyway and read from display window.

thanks for bringing this back into memory.

Jim, could you get into more detail what the ali-pcrs actually are about (device-id, number and "translation")?

Peter, I'll e-mail you all 4 of them; and you can sort them out. One was published by Mr Toastz; and the others I got somewhere else; but I don't remember where.

U235; specify which kind(s) you want and give me an e-mail address to send them to.

KachiWachi; thanks for the convention info.

PCR Files Attached

Post by Jim »

K, thanks to Nohr, who changed something to enable PCR attachments, here are all the PCR files I have. I did not compose any of them, but rather downloaded any and all I could find. Some of them, (I was too lazy to go in and check which), are already in the downloads section here.

EDIT : Have checked the ALi files, and found that what I took to be four w/ two versions of one of them, is actually a rar file containing 3 zipped files, which are the other three, all of which are available in the downloads section by downloading the same RAR file, which was originally posted by Mr Toastz here in the software and tweaking section.

The Via files are as stated 14 PCR files representing 11 different files with 3 having two differently dated versions, which may or may not be from the same source. Some are from George Breese, some from Bronx69, some from Orca, and some from here in the downloads section.

The intel PCR files are the 15 named in my first post and those I have checked seem to be authored by H. Oda himself.

EDIT : Have checked a few more; and though in English, they all seem to originate from Japan from various authors. They seem to be for the 430tx, 440bx, i810, i815, i820 & i840 type boards.

EDIT : The ALi PCR File "10B91541.PCR" in the download has been changed to the KachiWachi corrected version now.

You are wellcome; (Just don 't explode if any cause problems) - bad joke. Would appreciate it if anyone having PCR files that I don't have, (particularly Via, or ALi files pertinent to the P5A-B, which seems to differ from the P5A), also posted theirs.

K, The ALi PCR Files have been corrected, (I think), thanks to KachiWachi. There is a new version there now which should display properly.
