Re: Here's what I heard back from ATI, don't know if it work
OK another hour of my life wasted....

I went through all the steps and I still have no AGP texturing. There were 2 anomolies with the install though.
1) I couldn't uninstall the old ATI driver through Add./Remove programs I got an error that said could not initialize.
2) I couldn't find any files that were called atigart.exe.

Apart from that though this ATI driver was the first I've ever installed under WIn98 that didn't casue a windows protection error on boot up when the VIA Gart was installed. I guess we'll have to get back to ATI and tell them to try again.

Does the new Radeon driver fix the Agp texturing problem?

Edited by: <A HREF=http://pub70.ezboard.com/ubenchmarkman. ... MARKMAN at: 9/26/01 6:23:27 pm

Re:Does the new Radeon driver fix the Agp texturing problem?
Good question! I would like to know this as well. I recently built a K7 box, that now houses the Radeon card. MY AGP texturing problem has gone away. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /smile.gif ALT=":)"> I still have a PCI VD 3-3000 in my K6 box, waiting on funds for a MX400 card. But if the new drivers fix the AGP texturing problem, I would move the Radeon card back to the K6 box, as soon as I can get the funds for the new 8500 card.

AGP texturing
Hello all I was reading the post about the AGP texturing problem and realised that I worked on the same problem on the AMDZone Forums.

<a href="http://bbs.pcstats.com/amdzone/messagev ...

The test showed that AGP Texturing was disabled by the latest ATI driver (4.13), while using older drivers (4.12) enabled AGP Texturing.

However that test also showed that enabling AGP Texturing (in my case at least) the system became slower. ie Lower 3DMark2000 score.
