OK, just wanted to say that I am the proud owner of a K6-2+ 500 chip! I finally broke down and started using eBay, and I was fortunate enough to win a good bid on this chip (US$13.50 before shipping). I won the auction about a week ago, and today it finally arrived.
Had to flash my bios, and now I'm up and running. So far I notice quite a speed difference in certain apps compared to the regular K6-2. Hard to believe that 128kb L2 cache can make such a difference.
Now I'm waiting for the next upgarde to this system, which is another auction I've recently won. I'll need to make room in my case for my incoming Voodoo 5 5500 eBay is a dangerous thing...
