Well 1) This is CL2 not CL3. 2) This is not a lliquidation or sale. It is a case of there being very little of this type and brand of RAM available. I had hoped that they may have a low price to get rid of it; but apparently such is not the case.
I wanted some PC133 CL2. Searching the internet for "Hynix", which I have found to be superior, to other types, I ran across "Distributor of Hynix Semiconductor - www.aeri.com" searched their site; and found that of all, (there were several), the different types of 256 Meg CL2 sticks Hynix made, they claimed that in their global distribution chain they had 200 sticks of one type in stock.
Because they only deal w/ wholesalers and retailers, I then arranged for a retailer who is a friend of mine to try and get prices on : 1) a few sticks, 2) their entire stock. The results of that were in my last post. (Though I should have said Pat told them his target price was $40.00) Judging by the lack of further response, people either regard that as being too expensive, or alternately, my proposed method of distribution as being unfair.
Crucial costs a little under $80.00 U.S. and it has MT, (Micron Technology), chips, which I suspect are inferior to Hynix chips. (If I put my stick of "Micron PC133 CL3; PC100 CL2" in my DFI w/ my 2 sticks of "Hynix PC133 CL3; PC100 CL2" using the WPCredit settings I use, the machine crashes.)
I do not know what prices are being charged by other manufacturers for their CL2 256 sticks, because I was not really bargain hunting, I was looking for Hynix. Why? - because Kyle Brant said he had found that in order to run the WPCredit settings he uses, (which he posted in response to my Guest post : "DFI K6BV3+/66 vs ASUS P5A-B" - on page 2 of the "Hardware" section) he had to use "Top Quality" Ram or the system was unstable.
I intend to get some for myself, and thankyou KachiWachi for your response, since it tells me the general lack of response is price related.

Understood, no problem; but what is p&p charges? I have sent stuff to Bulgaria w/ no added cost other than shipping, which for a "Letter" (containing a few sticks of well wrapped RAM), should not be too bad.

well, then how much is the exact cost for shipping to austria/europe?. everytime i wanted to buy some stuff from the us it was the price they wanted to charge me for the shipping (24$ for sending a cpu) that made me rethink ....
but anyway, $58 for a stick is way over what i wanted to spend. there is a big second-hand market on ebay for 256mb ram 133mhz, the auctions end at about 20euros. be it cl3 or cl2. the asus p5a-boards run 133mhz-memory cl3 sticks at cl2 without problems (even no-name sticks).
it sure gives a better feeling if the sticks are brand new but i can't afford such a high price, sorry.

True the P5A-B will run PC133 Ram that is CL3 @ 133 MHz & CL2 @ 100 MHz, provided you do not go over 100 MHz FSB. If on the other hand you want to overclock the FSB then you need PC133 CL2 RAM if you want to use aggressive memory timings.
If you can find used PC133 CL2 at the prices you mention, then I would recommend you get that. If you have any intention to ever OC the FSB though, I would not recommend PC133 CL3, because what you gain in increased MHz you will lose back by having to slacken your memory timings.
Re shipping to Austria, not sure; it cost me $91.00 CDN to send a large box by airmail to Bulgaria. (Contained Mobo, boxed video card , processor, 60mm fan heatsink combo, 2 sticks of ram, a CDR/RW/DVD, and an HDD.) So I think that just a few sticks of ram would probably be less than $5.00 @ cost.
That aside, I can quite understand why you would find $58.00 U.S. to be too expensive given that you can buy used for less than half the price.

Jim,
Pricing is USD $58 + "X amount" for miscellaneous charges? I am looking for any PC133 that will pass memtest86+ on my board when run at 124MHz FSB.
I am interested in a couple of sticks at the moment.

Sylvan, before you commit yourself to that, I would do a search for posts by "Smoke". I seem to recall that he had problems w/ some test or another; and his research showed that the problem was w/ the test.
That said, you are correct about pricing; and as previously stated, I will be checking this thread at 8:00 AM Eastern Time on Monday for final positions. (That is 8:00 AM Toronto time). I cannot guarantee that this RAM will pass any specific test; only that of the 5 different brands that I have tried, it is the best.
EDIT : See "K6III+ on Epox EP-MVP3c2" posted by "alh" w/ the last answer on May 20 2005 by "Guest" page 2 of the hardware section. "Smoke" put a link in his last sentence @ "known problems".
RE-EDIT : Having read the "Memtest" response to complaints about errors in "test 5" and "test 8", I decided that I had to run Memtest86 on my DFI (Hynix RAM) machine in order to give some sort of answer to this issue.
The tests were run @ 100 MHz because the DFI can only be overclocked through software. (i.e. using CPU Cool under Windows, while Memtest runs off a bootable CDROM disk, - at least in my case.) The result was as follows :
Wall Time 5:25 approx; Cached 512M; RSVD Mem 64k; Mem Map E820-STD; Cache On; ECC Off; Test Std; Pass 3; Errors 0.
