VA 503+ takes a licking and keeps on ticking!

Post by Hotlynx2 »

My house is a story and 1/2, the upstairs was made into 2 rooms and we added a window AC for cooling. The bedroom was my stepson's but He went to stay with his dad for the summer. He has my FIC VA 503+ that he uses and anyway he came to visit and when he left we turned off the AC upstairs, About a week later I had to go up there and the 503+ was still on after a week of 120 F tempatures up there. It is working fine. My Soyo (2001) is showing signs of bulging caps so I will have to repair aor replace soon. Sig didn't show up so here it is : AMD XP1700,SOYO SY-K7VEMPRO,Bios 2CA1,512mb pc133Ram Zipp100 scsi,80gb Seagate, WinXP,Radeon 7000 64MB DDR PCI, 12X10X32TDK burner,SeaMonkey 1.0.4,Soyo USB2.0 PCI, FIC503+,K6-llI+450 mhz OC to 550MHZ, ECS N2U400 Nforce2, AMD XP3200+ 1Gb ram.

Cooling 8) 8) is important and so is ease of being cooled under hot enviro conditions.
My sister's socket 7 TX97 unit went down when her room went hot during a heat wave and she left her machine running all night listening to CD's.

Three bulged caps .... machine under her desk in a corner no fan intake ..still boots and runs but not at full speed. Put together another unit with a A.I.W. card ...now she has that going (We got here a big quiet room fan to cool everything :) )

I'll repair the 1st machine as a internet only work unit for her :P
