Benching K6-III+ ANZ 500MHz with DFI K6XV3+/66

Post by mamba »

I post for you my benches with one of those K6-III+ ANZ.
I used a DFI K6XV3+/66, you can see on the attachments three configurations, Default, 112MHz and 124MHz. All of them was stable, I was able to bench with everest and Sandra.

I posted Everest cause is complete with the chipset offsets so you can see all the optimizations.

I have to say that 4-bank interleave was very unstable so I set it to 2-bank, anyway with or without it I haven't see a big difference.

mamba,

did you apply the wcpredit-memory tweaks jim has digged out for the via mvp3 chipset?

All wpcredit settings are in the reports, I think I have done them all.
You can see them.
Offset 53 changed to F0
Interleave mode set to 2 bank.
CAS set to 2 (from bios)
Sideband addressing on.

Only at default FSB I managed to use 4 bank interleave.

The CPU was set at 5x for the default and FSB 624 and 5.5x for 112MHz.

As you can see the best results are for 5x 124MHz.

@mamba

You can't have all of the wpcredit tweaks on as for the same DFI board using a K6-3+/450 @ 5.5x100 I get the following Everest result.

MR/MW/ML 307/194/157

I would take another look at Jim's optimisation for the KBV3 board again.

Also can you post figures for Superpi (1M)

I was searching for the wpcredit tweaks of jim but I'm not able to find them.
Anyway I'll try to bench another K6-III+ 500AMZ on my MVP3G2 as soon as I set it up and I'll do extensive tests with it.

@mamba

Look in software and tweaking Page 1 at the bottom of the page. The thread is titled "overclocking the DFI K6BV3+". Also the same page "wpcredit as applied to the K6BV3+" near the top. The second thread gives lots of tweaks.
