Hey thanks for the concern but we're all right down here, nasty fires though highest loss of life to bush fires in our Nations history :(


The fires had excess fuel on the forest floor because we've moved away from the 'fuel reduction' forest maintenance we used to conduct religiously... environmentalists :evil:

Perhaps... all I know is the indigenous people were conducting 'cold' burn-offs well before settlers landed on these shores to promote new growth in the forests & eradicate excessive ground cover, their existence hinged on a healthy eco system ;)

It was an awful day with gale force winds and extreme high temperatures combined with the forest conditions already mentioned & the fact everything was tinder dry due to our lack of sufficient rain in recent years :(
