Ok so a few day's ago my friend gave me his old (working) graphic card Nvida geforce gt 240. After putting it in i downloaded drivers from nvida website and installed them, after the installation it restarted my computer and i got the Blue Screen of Death and it said MEMORY_MANAGEMENT. So i had to start it in Safe mode and un-installe the drivers and restarted my PC then it worked again.
So i took out the graphic card and put my old one again installed the drivers and it worked fine.
So I downloaded BlueScreenView and it says the problem is ntoskrnl.exe (NT Kernel & System).
I did some research and found out it could be something with my RAM or Hard Drive, but I don't think this is the problem because my old card works fine.
Please help, this Graphic card that my friend gave me is much better then mine and i want to get it working.
What do u think is the problem and what should I do to fix it?
My set-up is:
CPU: Intel pentium D 935 3.20 GHz
OS: Windows XP Professional SP3
Motherboard: G41MT-S2PT (Gigabayte)
RAM: 2 GB DDR3

Re: FOR DonPedro
I sent DonPedro an email requesting that he drop by and help you with this. He lives in Austria so it might be a day or so before he gets it and comes by here.

Re: FOR DonPedro
hello muhamed,
I am sorry to tell you that I am not in the position to solve your problem from a distance - your problem could be related to all and nothing. I am not an expert per se for all nvidia-related problems - I learned a lot and know a lot about using nvidia-cards on socket-7 mainboards, but that is it.
I would remove any other plugged-in add-on card while installing the card and see if that helps. also I would look for older drivers which already support gt 240 graphic cards and which date back to the years when pentium d - hardware was sold.
also find another mainboard and see whether the graphics card works there. maybe it took a dent when it was taken from your friend's system.
best regards
peter

Re: FOR DonPedro
Peter, I think the driver he installed was too new for the NVidia Video card. Could you give him a link to the right driver for that type of card ?

muhamed,
the first drivers for a gt 240 card were released in winter 2009 and have the version no 195.50
use your preferred search engine to find a download location ... for example here
