So i have been wanting to play some old games recently.
also i picked up a roland MT-32 from ebay that i want to try out with oldschool Wing commander and stuff
I dug the parts box out of the shed and i mostly had enough to put together a sweet old system (would have been my main system back in the day lol)
Gigabyte GA-5AA
k62-500
pci voodoo 3
Yamaha 724 sound card with real opl3 chip (mmmmmm FM synthesis)
had a few issues at first and a power supply problem that let the magic blue smoke out of one of the serial port controllers but its coming together nicely.
more pics to follow

Re: Time to get the parts box out
its not going bad, got a couple of issues with not having ps/2 mice handy for dos stuff. no a problem for windows stuff though.
It might have been handy if my KVM was detected by the bios as an actual keyboard as well.
By default its picking bad refresh rates for my monitor so ill have to sort that out as well.
i was playing wolfenstien 3D on it as a test after i got windows 98 installed with enough patches to allow usb hard disks to be detected.
also i have managed to score a very cheap k63+ 400 from ebay that should go nicely in there.
Ill have to get some benchmarks going

Re: Time to get the parts box out
Well, I am in Canada, but if you can't get PS2 mice in Australia, I have some and could send you one or two.
